BASIC LEADLIGHTING

Learn the skills of glass cutting, leading up and soldering to complete a small leadlight project. Includes BBQ lunch both days. Some tools may be needed.

Sessions: 2 x 6 hours. Saturday and Sunday 10AM-4PM.

Cost: $99 Total - Fee $66, Materials $22 and BBQ $11 inc GST.

FURNITURE RESTORATION - TRADITIONAL HAND FRENCH POLISHING

Restore your furniture to its former glory. Learn the techniques needed to prepare, stain and wax your item of furniture.

Sessions: 6 x 3 hours. Tuesdays 1pm-4pm.

Venue: Men's Shed Burke Street

Cost:$132 inc GST (Material costs will depend on your project)

CANDLEMAKING

Participants will make six scented tea lights, one travel candle and one melt using natural products (soy bean base).

Sessions: Mondays 2pm-5pm .

Venue: 89 Napier Street

Cost: Concession Fee $20 inc GST. $22 inc GST Full Fee.

DANCE - Group Lessons

Learn how to dance like the stars! Old time to modern dances, Basic to advanced and taught by experienced guest instructors.

Sessions: 2 hours Thursdays 7.30pm—9.30pm

Venue: Lions Club Hall

Cost: $3 per session

COMPUTER USERS GROUP

Explore computers amongst friends. Topics covered will depend on the interest of the group and may include Using the internet, Sending emails, Wordprocessing and Using Excel. Gain confidence in using the computer for personal use or in preparation for the accredited Certificate I in Information Technology.

Days: Mondays 2.30 to 4pm.

Cost: $5 per session.

ONE TO ONE COMPUTERS

If you can’t join a class make an appointment with one of volunteers to help you with basic use of computers.

INTRODUCTION TO MYOB OR QUICKBOOKS

Learn how to set up and maintain business transactions and report GST requirements using either accounting software.

5-7 sessions

Location: 89 Napier Street.

Cost: From $164 inc GST to $200 inc GST.

INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

This class covers all the basics of digital photography. How to take good photos with your digital camera and then use basic computer photo-editing programs to enhance your pictures.

Days: Saturdays 10am to 3pm (other days are available if enough interest is shown.)

Held over 3 sessions for a total of 12 hours.

Location: 89 Napier Street.

Cost: Concession $77 inc GST (full fee $88 inc GST).

PHOTOSHOP FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Learn how to manipulate, merge, montage your digital photos as well as the techniques for restoring and repairing photos.

Days: Saturdays 10am to 3pm - 2 sessions - Bring your own lunch

Cost: Concession $60 inc GST (full fee $66 inc GST)

HOW TO USE YOUR LAPTOP

Bring your laptop in and learn how to use it effectively.

GROUP GUITAR LESSONS

Learn to play the guitar in a small group with an experienced tutor. Bring your own guitar.

Sessions: Tuesdays 5pm-6pm

UKULELE

Learn to play ukulele in a small group.

Thursdays 7pm-9pm

Location: 89 Napier Street.

MONDAY CRAFT GROUP

Join this informal group to finish ongoing projects, learn new skills and share your skills in knitting, embroidery, patchwork and more.

Sessions: Mondays 2pm-4pm

Cost: Free but bring your own projects.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Providing it rains occasionally, we can help you plant and grow your own vegetables.

Location: 89 Napier Street.

Cost: Free.

MARYBOROUGH WRITERS GROUP

Encouragement and support for local writers.

Sessions: First Friday of every month from 10am—12noon

COMMUNITY LUNCH PROGRAM

When possible we use the produce from our garden to prepare simple food. Join us for discussions and food with low kilometers.

Lunch is served at 12 noon.

A place where men can come together to create things and to talk.

Sessions: Fridays 9.30 to 4pm

Fees for all Lifestyle and Leisure Courses are payable on enrolment. Our refund policy guarantees that you get all your early payments back if the course is cancelled by GELC and your payment, minus 10%, back if you cancel before commencement.
